Building professional systems that stick.
I'm the AI Specialist at a family-owned lawn and irrigation company in Omaha. My job is to figure out where AI actually helps a business, build it, get people using it, and be honest about what worked. In the past year that's meant a routing engine and booking system for our busiest season, a company-wide move onto one AI platform, self-hosted agents that ship production code, and a set of internal tools the crews use every day. Philosophy degree, self-taught on the technical side, and I write down what I'd do differently.
Projects
-
Winterization Scheduling and Routing
The bottleneck was scheduling, not labor.
-
Building and Governing Self-Hosted AI Agents
Two generations of self-hosted agents: the first taught me what breaks, the second is built so it can't.
-
Four Internal Apps in Six Weeks
None of these problems justified buying software. All of them cost time every week.
-
Evaluating and Deploying a Third-Party Claude Plugin Suite
A vendor plugin suite, a failed integrity check, and a handoff that had to be reset before it happened.
-
Consolidating a Company's AI Tools onto One Platform
The technical part of a migration is small. The people part is the whole job.
-
Opening a 245-Table Legacy Database to AI
There was no programmatic way in.
About
I got into this by building tools for a business I know from the inside. That shaped how I work: the question is always whether field crews and office staff will use the thing, not whether it's elegant. I verify before I claim, I keep humans in the loop on anything that goes out under the company's name, and I treat the mistakes as part of the record. Currently based in Omaha, Nebraska.
